Winter can be a hard time when you have arthritis, lupus or even diabetes. I have been determined to not take any meds this year and stay natural. So the latest weapon in my arsenal is Pukka’s Three Ginger Tea.
The Tea
Pukka Three Ginger Tea comes in a beautifully designed box with a striking yellow and green pattern.
Ginger is wonderful as it relieves pain by reducing inflammation and dried ginger is even more effective, so sometimes I’ll add half a teaspoon of dried ginger to my tea when feeling brave. The best thing about Ginger is that it has little or no side effects compared to NSAIDS, and many people with lupus (like me) report less pain when taking it regularly. The two most popular natural anti-inflammatory foods are ginger and turmeric. It is actually curcumin in them which helps fight inflammation.
Ginger, galangal root, turmeric and licorice combine to create a really spicy, warm and inviting tea. I like to have a cup an hour or so before going bed to ease any aches and pains, though I even have it for breakfast sometimes. I would never have thought to put licorice and ginger together but they really complement each other.
Ingredients
Ginger root 51%, galangal root 28%, licorice root, turmeric root 4%, natural ginger extract.
Value
You get 20 teabags for £2.19 which works out at 11p a bag. After three weeks of having it everyday I’ve noticed my joints feel much better even though the weather is getting colder. This time of year is often a bit difficult but this tea has made it easier, and means I can stay off any medication and treat my body holistically through diet and exercise. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to reduce inflammation, aid digestion, improve their circulation or just get some warmth into the body.
